We are convinced that it is essential to trigger and accelerate change with a view to taking better account of the environmental and social issues by relating them to economic reality. As a designer of sustainable solutions, this is our core mission. In order to do this, we have to stay the course in both our professional life and our daily life. By remaining at the cutting-edge of our expertise and innovation as well as by working to develop a pleasant stimulating working environment where our staff can continue to learn, by striving to set an example regarding our direct environmental impact and by helping to convince and encourage the greatest number of players and people to take action.

The Lab Inno develops each party’s innovative capacity

The Lab Inno is the GreenFlex entrepreneurship platform, designed to stimulate the creativity and flow of innovative ideas from employees. The Inno Lab's goal is to helping to develop these ideas in-house, by offering support and resources for the selected projects! In 2 years, 95 ideas have been pitched by 28 GreenFlex staff! Two have already brought their innovations to fruition: the Imaginales and the Inno Room!

The Imaginales, inspiring encounters for our employees

Comprised of two discussion forums (“Share your talent” and “Inspired by others”), the Imaginales offer a venue for exchange, both amongst GreenFlex employees and with outside contacts. The goal is to inspire others with amazing journeys and new ideas! Speeches by enthusiastic personalities, discussions about personal and humanitarian projects, visits of art exhibits, etc. Three Imaginales sessions already took place in 2016!

The Inno Room, a recreational co-working area

Our employees get together in an area that gives wings to creativity and innovation. A collaborative area designed to be recreational, this room encourages another kind of meeting: it offers a modular experience where participants can write notes on the walls or even decide to hang tables from the ceiling! Every day between noon and two, the Inno Room becomes a haven of peace where employees can rest, either on sofas or on pouffes!

ecoguide

The EcoGuides, accelerating the transition to responsible purchasing

The EcoGuide tool sheets help companies purchase responsibly in such diverse environments as high tech (since 2010), refrigeration (2013) and lighting (2016). With more than 4500 products assessed with regard to CSR, life cycle and energy criteria, these independent, objective guides allow our clients to step up their transition to a more sustainable consumption model! In addition to this offer, the public EcoGuide platform regularly analyses news from these sectors to inform readers and accompany them in their decisions.

Imago, our fast good restaurant

A brainstorming session with the LabInno team at a corporate seminar led to the idea of creating a public area designed to showcase GreenFlex know-how in innovative, sustainable consumption. Several months later, the restaurant on the ground floor of the GreenFlex building in Paris became available, presenting a perfect opportunity to bring this somewhat zany project to life. The Imago concept thus became a reality.

Encouraging and helping people to take action

Promoting responsible economics and consumption amongst our partners and throughout society by broadly boosting awareness of sustainable development issues and by supporting and encouraging people to take action.

To do so, we focus primarily on sharing our knowledge by providing public access to our studies and our IT EcoGuide, by building awareness through art with our collection and our support of artists working in this direction and by our social agreements with various initiators of change.

Art and Sustainable Development

Contemporary art as a force for change! What if Art, Beauty and Creativity represented as effective, if not better, ways of communicating and driving action as traditional company discourse? From this perspective, in four years, we at GreenFlex have built the first private French art collection dedicated to sustainable development! It is comprised today of some twenty works of art, by both promising and well-known artists (Lucy and Jose Rota, Claire Tabouret, to name just a few). Using various techniques, from installations to drawings to photography, these artworks illustrate the major environmental issues. As Art is witness to the changes in the concepts of how to safeguard our planet, it opens the minds to opportunity for each person on our premises!

We are involved with Solidarités Nouvelles face au Chômage

Every company should offer employees an opportunity to get involved: this has been one of GreenFlex’s commitments since its very foundation. In 2010, GreenFlex put together an inhouse support group to work with the association SNC (New Solidarity for the Unemployed) to offer personal support to the unemployed. Today, 24 employees are involved, assisting SNC in its initiatives aimed at companies and creating groups.

We have supported the Im’prove association since 2012

So as to offer the broadest scope for employee involvement and to champion projects of a former employee dealing with our economic and social impact, GreenFlex decided in 2012 to support the association Planète d’entrepreneur, today known as Im’prove. Im'prove, founded in 2009, is a new association which aims to promote an alternative vision of business and its performance by reconciling economic efficiency and social impact. It helps agents of social innovation through support missions focusing on the evaluation of the social impact in France and developing countries.

We are raising awareness about responsible consumption within the MediaTerre programme

94 volunteers, aged 16 to 25, trained in responsible consumption, 38 themed events organised by the volunteers, 6 eco-gestures specific to responsible consumption proposed to families, 1000 residents of working class areas won over, 329 families received personal support. Better consumption for us means becoming Better informed, making Better purchases and making Better use. Faced with the urgency of boosting actions aimed at changing behaviour and lifestyles in France, GreenFlex recognised the importance of this concrete initiative that proves that it is possible to act and succeed out in the field. The operation with the young civil service workers is particularly near and dear to us since their energy and creativity plays a large part in the success of the project.

Entertain while building awareness amongst the public

For the past 4 years, we have been playing an awareness-raising role in a fun and accessible way! We have developed the #GoodNoël platform with a view to drawing attention to responsible consumption over the holiday period. With this platform, you can calculate your carbon footprint during the holidays using an animated quiz, or even make up your holiday gift list in the most intelligent way possible! Our premises, a reflection of our commitment

We designed and created all of our premises in our image: innovative and sustainable! Regardless of the agency, staff work and live in a sustainable environment designed for and with them themselves. Staff can relax or work together in the Inno Room at the head office, make a phone call in total privacy in the “confidentiality bubble” in Lyon or enjoy a breath of fresh air at the pond in Lille! In terms of sustainable development, 100% of our equipment was carefully selected from responsible suppliers, when it is not a question of “upcycling” to improve the decor! Lighting with LEDs or with a presence sensor, heat pump on the roof, management of energy consumption at all agencies with a view to monitoring our impact.... Even the carpeting comes from recycling in order to ensure that our staff works in a comfortable, SD environment!

Tools and clearly displayed posters, committed teams, guaranteed traceability and a partner player for the integration of disadvantaged people! Aware of the importance of waste and recycling, GreenFlex decided to boost its recycling efforts in 2015 by calling on the help of the company Le Petit Plus. Individual bins have now given way to specific containers so that plastic bottles, cans, paper, printer cartridges, batteries, glass and other waste can enjoy a second life! The next step: maintain the momentum and reduce the amount of waste!

Our travel, our impact and our action: the mobility plan

Measures adapted to our business! GreenFlex employees learn to be aware of their environmental impact, first by assessment then by action! With a quarter of our GHG emissions resulting from our travel, a "mobility plan" has been established, with a guide specifically devoted to work-related travel. And this in addition to, of course, the priority given to video conferencing over travel (rule #1 of the guide)! The travel guide has been joined by guides for recycling, purchasing, printing, and more. Plenty of “best practices” to develop in the company!

Regular awareness building operations, sharing and fun

Enthusiasm, a GreenFlex founding value, especially plays a decisive role in our awareness building operations! With sharing in mind, we regularly organise themed breakfasts and an annual Kids Day: in 2016, 28 children in Aix-en-Provence and Paris were introduced to sustainable development issues (water, energy, biodiversity and waste) for close to double the number of parents.
